It's a good life

There will always be a bit of dissatisfaction in everything we do and receive in life. We wonder it could’ve been better and things could’ve been more in abundance like more happy moments, lovely romances, sweet understandings, no fights, no grudges, more money, more comfort etc.

But before we demand too much or complain about anything, have we enjoyed everything that life has offered? Have we seen the positive side of all situations to make it look normal and good? We often tend to see one side of the situation and fish in shallow waters. Though we know that there’s other side to every situation and should think deep before coming to a conclusion and crib/whine about anything.

With the pressure in work side and in life, we say that peace of mind is lost and want to get it back. Remember, solutions always lie within the vicinity of the problem. You cannot find the key in the light when you’ve lost it in the dark! Have a serene walk by the beach, do an open talk with your close mate over a cuppa coffee, enjoy a child’s smile, smell a bunch of roses in the bouquet. And make sure you find time to enjoy such things in life.

Money and other materialistic things cannot determine your peace of mind and happiness quotient. If you feel that having less money or those physical possessions are the reason, you’re guiding your mind in a wrong direction.

With money, you can buy a bed but not sleep, buy music but not peace of mind, buy a pet but not a life. Learn to enjoy things that are given rather than cribbing about things that are not given to you. The best things in life are all around us and they are free - hugs, friends, smiles, family, sleep, love, laughter, memories etc. Devote attention to them and enjoy. It’s a good life!

Excellent! and I agree totally, but would work be a problem, if considered and done with the same happiness?

I totally agree...A beautiful post to embark life in its full swing. Big achievements take a toll on us and it is always a long long journey towards it. In the meantime we should do small things to make life beautiful like sipping coffee or taking a walk or reading your blog:)

Another soothing and inspiring article:)

Love that!!!

Another wonderful reflection on life, Anand :) The best things in life are free, indeed! Everyone holds the key to unlock this *gold* that money can never buy :)

First of all let me say a sorry for this delayed visit here. Time is a big challenge:-)

My favourite: "You cannot find the key in the light when you’ve lost it in the dark!" So true!

It is said that we should count our blessings to know the real value of things. And you have encapsulated that very refreshing thought here! We hardly allow ourselves to stand and stare at the beauty of a rose in this rush for materialistic needs and all the mumbo-jumbos! We always wants to guess the unseen beauty of a distant future rather than the exquisite sight of our own garden;-)

Another lovely post Anand with feather of hope! My regards and wishes:-) Life is indeed good and beautiful!

Your writing always gives me a perfect dose whenever I need it :P

We always crib about what all we don't have, and how our life isn't good. But we always fail to see what all we have :)

Lovely :)

I am sure...everyone would agree with what you said..and I am also sure...when we sit and relax and are only in the company of ourselves, these small gifts of life, is what we think. But..when we are in the outside world, we change a bit...we compare ourselves with others..if someone is more happy than us..what do they have..which we do not...and so on...

I have always been of the belief that I do not have to have lots of money to be happy and though I do have lots of gadgets, they do not provide that much happiness as say seeing a new place and enjoying the beauties of nature.

But that said, I think, every reaction, say envy, jealousy, complain, whine are present in us and they do serve a purpose for some... :D

looong time Anand no new post yet?

Prime Aque said...

'The best things in life is free...' well I agree on that bro! Things brought by money are short live, effects easily fades away, just like saying buying a new car wont make you happy forever, but finding a true friend would make you find yourself complete through the years :)

Anand said...

@Kunal: Agree with you Kunal. monies and gadgets cannot get you complete happiness unlike people and nature.

Yes, when we are in the outside world, we do tend to compare ourselves with others. But that should be a healthy and positive comparison which should result in learning something from that person to attain more happiness in life. And yes, every reaction has a place and purpose in life.

Thank you very very much for the comment :)

Anand said...

@Ajay: Thanks a ton for those words Ajay. Welcome here and happy blogging :)
